As part of the statistics major, UCLA students are required to participate in a series of statistical consulting capstone classes. These courses give students the opportunity to solve real data analysis problems for community-based or campus-based clients. Students work in small groups with the faculty advisor and client to frame the client’s question in statistical terms, create statistical models, analyze data, and report results. Weekly meetings with the advisor give students consulting skills and experiences they can utilize after graduation.
